about

On the road to Nowhere there's an outpost called The Bar Of The Lost And Forsaken. It's a popular joint, and I've had a steady gig there for what seems like ages. I wrote this song hoping they'd put it on their jukebox.

lyrics

miles to go - - nothing to lose
holes in the soles of your walking shoes
right about now you feel your faith’s been shaken
come as you are to the bar of the lost and forsaken.

tears and regret - - you’ve had your fill
if death don’t get you then living will
don’t even mention the time that it’s taken
time passes slow at the bar of the lost and forsaken.

the clock keeps ticking, you can’t fall asleep
the dreams you let fly and the nightmares you keep
we all wear the mask, we all pretend we’re not faking
we’ve saved you a seat at the bar of the lost and forsaken.

the clock keeps ticking, you can’t fall asleep
the dreams you let fly and the nightmares you keep
you might think that you’re alone, but you’d be mistaken
we’re packing them in at the bar of the lost and forsaken.

you ask for selection - - man, you got nerve!
‘cause bitter dregs is all that we serve
but there’s plenty of friends here for the making
come raise your glass at the bar of the lost and forsaken.
